Very very nice atmosphere with background music at a perfect level, the burger was one of the thickest and juiciest burgers I have ever have, definitely recommend the rose tree burger. Service was fast and efficient. Overall very happy.
The food was amazing, both the steak pie and chicken pie were delicious. The portion of the mains are quite big. The fish and chips was nicely done, you can tell the fish they used was different than the regular one. As their menu mentioned all of their ingredients were from different nearby foam, maybe that’s why their food tasted so good. The stuff there was really nice and friendly. Public free parking is next door, 1 mins away.
Popped in on the off chance of getting a table, and we're taken straight in and offered a choice. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, as soon as we were seated the menu was given to us, and we were asked if we wanted a drink, The wife and I both had the prawn cocktail to start, the perfect amount of prawns, salad, and sauce , The main course I had the steak, kidney, and mushroom pie, wife had the chicken pie, they were definitely value for money and the flavours were so nice, This is one of the best restaurants we've ever had the pleasure of eating in, and I must reiterate again regarding the staff, the owner of this establishment, and choose them well. Great food, great staff and not too expensive either
Love, Love, Love this restaurant! We came across The Rose Tree a couple of years ago and it's been our 'go to' place to dine when in Bourton. Quality of food is amazing. Staff / owners are so friendly and welcoming. Good menu, which caters for all tastes and great ambience in the restaurant. This time we were there (18th March) with friends to celebrate our special occasion. Thank you Rose Tree for making our evening so extra special. Highly recommend the Rose Tree, wish we lived closer!
We visited on January 13, 2025. We were the first to be there for dinner and needless to say we were seated by the front window and served right away. We had the shrimp cocktail and crab for starters, both ere nice but I preferred the crab with chili. My wife had the Tagine and I had the lamb shank. Both were delicious. The tagine was a bit too sweet and fruity, would have preferred more savory flavor overall. We enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend and plan to return!
We had a wonderful evening meal at this lovely restaurant in a beautiful waterside location. We had duck liver parfait & Brie with pear & walnut salad - Devine! Hubby loved the lamb shank & I throughly enjoyed the sea bass. Affogato & chocolate brownie finished off the meal beautifully. Staff were very friendly & the service was seamless. Highly recommend.
I recently dined at The Rose Tree in Bourton-on-the-Water, and it was hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The squid starter was simply outstanding—beautifully presented, perfectly balanced flavors, and every element worked together harmoniously. For my main, I had the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection and completely boneless—a real treat. The portion sizes were generous, and even the garlic bread was incredible. The rest of my table enjoyed lamb shank, chicken, and pork, and every single person agreed it was one of the best meals they’d had. The desserts were equally impressive, rounding off the meal perfectly. The service was amazing, with friendly and welcoming staff who created a relaxed and private atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being small, it never felt cramped, and the staff’s knowledge of the menu and proactive approach to service was fantastic. I honestly couldn’t recommend The Rose Tree enough. Make sure to book in advance, as the restaurant is small, but trust me, it’s well worth it. An absolute gem!
The food was great, service was excellent but the waiting time was quite long. I think they were understaffed but the friendliness of the staff made up for it!
